The great thing about these recipes, is that you can experiment and change them based on what you like! So if you start with the recipe, but find you need more, you can add in more! My diffusers are all mid-size and hold between 100-150 ml of water. These recipes are based on that size (most home diffusers are similar in size). You can still use these recipes with yours! If you find you need to add more oil since you’re adding more water, add in a few extra drops of each and see how that does for you. Sometimes in a large open space I find that I need to add in a little more myself. 😉 Hope that helps… have you tried any yet?? I’d love to hear which ones you like!

Many essential oils are steam distilled, which involves simmering the plant material to produce steam, which travels through a tube, which is then run through cold water. The liquid that forms from condensation will be in two parts, a water compound, and an oil compound. The water compound is where floral waters, such as lavender and rose water, come from. The oils that rise to the top are DIY essential oils.
Soothe burns and sunburns. Put two to three drops of lavender oil on a minor burn to help relieve the pain. Applied quickly enough, it should stop the burn from blistering as well. Produced only in Australia, tea tree oil is a very powerful antiseptic and antibacterial essential oil. Tea tree oil can be used to treat fungal infections such as athletes foot and nail infections, relieves itching caused by insect bites and can be diluted into a mouthwash to treat gingivitis or bad breath. It is also one of the few oils that can be applied undiluted, although this should be done with extreme caution as it can cause a reaction in those with sensitive skin.
I think there might be a bit of confusion here. The recipe is for an oil infusion, which is a wonderful ingredient with many different applications. However, it is not exactly an essential oil and certainly not as potent. Making a true essential oil involves the use of a still, and as I said above this can be quite a costly investment. Instead, I offer the alternative of an oil infusion.

Essential oils may help to reduce toxicity by promoting the detoxification of your home and body. Some work as mild diuretics, thereby increasing urine production and improving detoxification. And some oils aid digestion and promote the detoxification of toxins that buildup in the body. (18)
As a digestive aid. Peppermint oil is superb for helping to relieve indigestion and heartburn. Put just one drop of peppermint oil into a glass of water and drink.
